Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 28, 2026

This policy explains what Folio collects and how it’s used. We aim to collect as little as possible. Folio does not require an account to use.

What we store on your device

Most of Folio runs in your browser. We use your device’s local storage to remember things like your listening progress, playback preferences, your daily free pick, and your membership state. This data stays on your device and is not an account.

What we collect

  • Payments: handled by Stripe. When you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment and billing details. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Usage analytics: we use PostHog to understand anonymous, aggregate product usage (e.g. app opens, sample completions, paywall views, checkouts). This helps us improve Folio.
  • Support: if you email us, we receive your email address and message.

How we use it

To provide and improve the Service, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal information.

Third parties

  • Stripe — payments and subscription management (see Stripe’s privacy policy).
  • PostHog — product analytics.
  • Cloudflare — hosting and delivery of the app.

Cookies & local storage

We use local storage for the app to function and minimal analytics. We do not use advertising cookies.

Data retention & your choices

You can clear Folio’s local data anytime by clearing your browser’s site data. To request access to or deletion of information held by us or our processors (e.g. Stripe billing records), email us and we’ll help.

Children

Folio is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region).

International

Folio is operated from Canada and uses service providers that may process data in other countries.

We’ll update the date above when this policy changes. Questions or requests: [email protected].
