Terms of Service

Last updated: June 28, 2026

Welcome to Folio (“Folio”, “we”, “us”). Folio is an independent service operated by a sole proprietor. By using the Folio app and website at folioclassics.com (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service

Folio offers short, narrated audio editions of public-domain literary classics, delivered through your web browser. Audio length, catalogue, and features may change over time.

Free access and Premium

  • Free: you may listen to one book you choose per day at no cost. A new free pick is available each calendar day.
  • Premium: an annual subscription that unlocks the entire library with no daily limit.

Subscriptions & billing

Folio Premium is an annual subscription. Unless cancelled, it renews automatically each year until cancelled. We do not store your card details.

Cancellation

You can cancel anytime from the account page where you originally subscribed. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the Service: no attempting to bypass access controls, redistribute the audio, scrape the catalogue, or disrupt the Service. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial listening.

Content & intellectual property

Source texts are in the public domain. The audio narration, cover artwork, editing, and the Folio app itself are our property or used under licence, and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular title will remain available.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these Terms or the Service. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
